The Best
We have been holidaying in the Algarve for many years, staying in hotels, apartments & villas during that time.

In 2016 we “found” Casa Antonio via European Rentals & have been back every year since.

For us the house is the holiday, it has everything. Beautiful garden with palm & lemon trees, BBQ & not forgetting the amazing pool. The area of Sesmarias is quiet but not remote, many fine restaurants are just a short distance away & the bustle of Albufeira a 15 minute taxi ride. If the beach is your thing there are a few within walking distance.

The house is fully equipped, it has everything you could possibly need, including multi channel TV & excellent WiFi.

Apolonia supermarket in Gale is the best for everyday needs, excellent meat, fish, deli & bakery counters. As we use a car we go to Continente at Algarve Shopping for bulk items. It’s a very big mall with a lot of shops & stores, well worth a visit.

Important to us are the people who look after you & the house during your stay. I can’t praise them enough, from the welcome on the first day to departure day they are fantastic & we look forward to meeting up with them again on each visit.

Superb Villa
We have used Casa Antonio ten times over the last fifteen years.

It is a five star plus Villa in our opinion and is kept spotless and so well equipped.

The grounds, swimming pool and garden are maintained to a high standard, and nothing is too much trouble for the people who look after the Villa.

There are restaurants to walk to within a short distance. A lovely beach is just five minutes’ walk away and lots of other beaches all along that coast five to 10 minutes by car. 

Supermarkets are dotted all around and a large Hypermarket and shopping centre are twenty minutes by car. We have spent some beautiful holidays in this Villa with friends and family; we will be there again in June and hopefully the year after.

Simply The Best
We have stayed in a few villas over the years, and honestly Casa Antonio and Cantinho Oliveiras are simply the best we have used. Both villas are in close proximity of all amenities. But at the same time, they are secluded and totally private. Bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance of the villas, but the villas are also superbly equipped for cooking at home. Immaculately presented, at all times. This is why we’re repeat visitors every year.

Excellent Villa!
We originally stayed at Casa Antonio nearly 20 years ago and loved it then and we returned last year and wow, what a transformation. The interior and exterior have changed and it’s beautiful and stylish and it’s well equipped. You really can’t ask for more.

First Time Booking
This was our first time booking with European Rentals and everything went smoothly, response time was great and informative.

We stayed at Casa Antonio 14th -28th August 2025 , 5 adults, 2 children.

The villa is well maintained, spotless & spacious (both inside and out)

One of the most spacious villas we have had in nearly 25 years of renting in the Algarve.

Well equipped modern kitchen, plenty of room for the chefs ! great pool size – kids liked the secret pool cover ! pool temperature was perfect for us, just what you needed after cooking on the sun lounger. Plenty of parking space for 2 cars inside the gated grounds (we had Peugeot 2008 size vehicles)

The cleaners are friendly, respectful & thorough-well worth the tip we left.

Plenty of entertainment options with the TV, the location is perfect for the beaches, especially Gale, only a 10 min drive.

Supermarkets are within 5-10 mins (Aldi) & Algarve Shopping is about 15-20 mins

Great local restaurant’s also – Jompra (our favourite), La Olive 

Would definitely return, as we were ready to book for 2026 whilst we were there, but not available (not surprisingly)

Highly Recommended
I thought I would drop you a short note regarding our stay at Casa Antonio.

We had a lovely stay, and the villa was perfect for us being located in a quiet spot within walking distance of fantastic restaurants and the beach. Having said that, we spent most of our time lying by the pool and relaxing then cooking most nights as the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed.

I was doing a little bit of work and the Wi-Fi was excellent which is a big thing these days.

We would struggle to find fault with any aspect of Casa Antonio and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break in the sun.

The Best villa we have stayed in
“We travelled as a family of six (3 generations). We loved everything about this villa. Great local, walking to the beach, restaurants and a bar, what more could you want ? We had a car to allow us the freedom to explore further afield. The villa itself was spacious, modern and well equipped. We would return next year but unfortunately already booked for our dates.”

Perfect Villa in a Great Location
“Group of 8 (4 adults and 4 young children). This villa was perfect. The pictures don’t do it justice. Within walking distance of beaches and numerous restaurants, shops and bars. My advice would be to get a taxi to a large supermarket and stock up on the essentials then top up using the local shops.

Every part of the booking process was made easy by the property manager with prompt and helpful information provided and transfers organised. Will hopefully be returning soon,”

Superb
“This is a fantastic villa definitely the 5 stars it claims it is, the pictures do not give the full impression. It was spotlessly clean on arrival inside and out. Very secure for children and a hard cover for the pool. Location is ideal, peaceful but only a short walk to bars etc. We had a car which is advisable but not necessary. The Sky TV worked all good. There were 4 adults and 2 children and we had the extra bedroom, loads of room, plenty of toilets etc. ”

Relaxation at its best
“We loved our time here… The villa is kitted out with everything you could possibly hope for. Its spotless, comfortable and quiet. We asked for a transfer from the airport and can’t rate that service highly enough, it just took the stress out of the entire process. The location is ideal if you want to hide away from it all, although I would say that comes with its own restrictions if you have limited mobility (as I do). On hindsight we probably should have hired a car but we would have likely only used it on a few occasions to get supplies etc. We were here in early May and although the pool is always heated to 25 degrees, that’s not as warm as you think and I wish we’d paid the extra to have it heated to 30 degrees, it often felt too cold to stay in for any length of time which was a shame because its a beauty. Really loved the electronic cover that kept out the bugs and debris. The garden is brilliant – we have a three year old and he had a great time pottering between the lemon tree and the grass – so secure with the electronic gates that our only concern was him disturbing the wee lizard we saw most days! I’m short of you’re looking for tranquillity this is the place for you but be prepared that there is v little round the actual villa itself – you need to be geared up for walking or driving.”

5 Star Villa Absolutely Beautiful
“Loved the week we have just had at Casa Antonia. Absolutely beautiful villa , the added touches and extras are spot on . Dressing gowns , pool towels , housekeeper, table tennis to name a few . Lovely big pool , loads of glasses, cutlery, plates etc it has everything you can think of , gorgeous modern kitchen, so too are all the bathrooms. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space, very secure and private. It is the best villa we have stayed in and we have stayed in a few . We use Suntransfers.com when we travel abroad rather than hire cars and we can recommend them as we have used them a lot when visiting Spain and Portugal. We walked to the Spar shop just past the Jompra restaurant and it had everything we needed , even have a lovely little butchers. Plenty of little restaurants in Sesmarias, The New Dubliner is a lovely friendly little bar/restaurant with lovely food , we tried most of the restaurants in the area and all were lovely. Sesmarias is a quiet place and no town to speak off but if you are looking for a relaxing peaceful time away with beautiful little beaches, coves actually, with a few restaurants and no nightlife then this is the place to go . We took a taxi into Albuferia Old Town a couple of times but it wasn’t really our thing , very touristy and a bit run down , we did eat at the Shalom 2 though and can thoroughly recommend it . We will definitely be back to this beautiful villa to recharge our batteries and cannot thank the owners enough for sharing their villa .”

Totally relaxing
“We absolutely loved our stay at the villa, and hope to return. Every time we went out, we were itching to get “home”. Lots of lovely beaches and restaurants nearby if you can tear yourself away.

Relaxing stay in top quality villa
This well equipped and high quality villa suited the eight of us very well. There is plenty of both indoor and outdoor space and a choice of three dining spots. There is an abundance of crockery, glassware and cutlery. The villa is situated in a lovely part of the Algarve and is within easy walking distance of two picture postcard beaches (Castelo and Coelha), each with an excellent beach bar. In addition to the beach bars we visited the restaurant just around the corner (excellent) and O Marinheiro which was good. We made good use of the BBQ and lovely outdoor eating space at the villa.”

Perfectly Placed Villa
“Our requirements were a well appointed villa, in walking distance of beach, bars and restaurants and this property was perfect. Very well designed and high spec, both inside and outside made the stay ver enjoyable. Local people looking after the villa were very friendly and efficient.
